Don’t get jelly

My count down is on for my holiday to Cancun.
I will be pulling together a bit of a Vlog when I am back as well as lots of content on Cancun nightlife, food and excursions.
I will also be doing a full video and blog breakdown of the hotel.
You may know that my partner and I save all year round to afford one nice big holiday a year! I hear great things about this hotel, however when researching I felt that I couldn’t find all of the answers to my questions that is why my hotel blog/vlog and review will be quite significant – so anyone planning to visit will have all of the information they could possibly want!

This is the hotel website:

This is the current Trip advisor page:

As you know I am big on Trip advisor with over 75 reviews placed I am very active and have over 50,000 readership! That is pretty awesome that I have helped so many people!

I am very excited to share hints, tips and general information with you all! Not to mention some seriously amazing pictures!

I probably won’t have the opportunity to blog before I leave so I will see you in just over 2 weeks!

Sending you all love and best wishes
K x

Wheres Kirstie?

I am so sorry I haven’t been keeping you up to date on my arts, crafts and juicy things I have brought! In between being a bridesmaid, trying to have a social life, earning that ca$h money, maintaining a long distance relationship and not being disowned as a member of my family… I really do not have much time!

To keep you in the loop I have done a flash post to share a few little things I have been doing, brought and even completed….

First of all today…
I found myself running though the streets of Saffron Lane Estate in my Beauty & the Beast PJ’s… First off – Saffron Lane Estate isn’t exactly the most… (how can I put this nicely?) desirable of areas. Secondly I was in a frantic panic as my dogs had seemingly got out of the house and decided to go roaming the streets!
I know it is awful to say but there are lots of not very nice people out there at the moment who snatch up dogs for breeding (sorry puppy snatchers they have no balls), as well as using them for dog fighting. Luckily they were found at the top of the street after a lovely man saw them and tried to mush them back home!
Here is a cheeky picture of the naughty boys!20170523_133530_resized

Another exciting thing was my auntie got to go on holiday (with work). When I say with work… she is a carer for my brother who is on the severe end of the autism spectrum.
My auntie and grandma look after my brother for work. Nice to know that he is in capable and caring hands.
Tracey brought me back a little treat from the airport! Paco Rabanne Olympea! How I love this smell!
A very light smell very different to the Lady Million (which I also love) but subtle and wearable for everyday!

Another exciting thing was I went to my works Summer party which to be completely honest I wasn’t very hyped to go to. It ended up being a really lovely night with some amazing work friends. When I say lovely… I was on my way home at 11 as I was way to drunk to continue the night haha!

I posted about this little dress a while ago… It was sat in my draw unfinished and I  spend one Saturday night watching horror films and completing the final touches to my first ever pattern. I will be doing the written pattern when I get round to it but its all completed and I am pretty proud of my first creation by eye! YAY

Last but 100% not least I brought a travel wallet! I have an upcoming post and review on this as it so darn amazing! So I wont give too much away! Keep posted!

I am hoping you have all been well and have enjoyed the bit of warm weather we have had (UK friends)! Hope everyone else has had a lovely weekend! Back to the grind tomorrow!

Have a blessed day and lots of love !

Dresses, Dresses, Everywhere…

…and none of them fit!

I have been crocheting loads of baby dresses I thought it was about time I took the plunge and started my own pattern and made a larger dress.
Don’t let the title fool you… It is a larger dress, it just so happens that it doesn’t fit any of my friends children… yet!!

I just wanted to share with you where I am with my very first ‘from mind’ creation.

I have opted for a marble effect dress. The dress is fitted in the top half and then flairs out at the skirt. The hem has a white peaked effect all the way around and I am looking to add angle sleeves to the arm holes again in white.
To give it a little more detail I am thinking of doing a white collar and putting some buttons on it.

I think if I were to start over I probably wouldn’t have done peaked hem on the bottom maybe something a little more subtle like rounded?
I think the peaks make it look a bit ‘witchy’? Borderline Halloween!

What are you all working on at  the moment? Anything exiting?

Hills & Thrills

I have been a bit quite on the blog front but sadly this is due to the copious amounts of ‘real life’ work I have to do.

I have been super active over the past week! So I am continuing to go gym, sadly the beach body I aspire to have is not working out the way I planned. Weirdly I am getting fatter!!? how does that even work?
Last weekend I went down to Bournemouth to see Adam!
Thankfull the weather was quite nice so in addition to trying out a tasty new chinese takeaway we were able to visit Hengistbury Head which is very beautiful part of Bournemouth with cliff like views.

We found out from Adams friend that it is lovely to visit in the sunny weather and although it was quite windy it was nice and warm. We happened to walk down to Southbourne beach after breakfast at Bistro on the Beach. We walked as far as the path would take us. We stared into the distance and noticed a really large hill which we were going to attempt to walk too (we thought better of it). Little did we know that it was the cliffs in Hengistbury Head!

It has magnificent views but you do need to be fit to  walk (more like hike) up the hills.
These are the pictures we took when we got to the top!

We walked around looking over the cliffs and reading up on the local wildlife… We headed on back and made our decent back down the hill, exploring different routes back to the car park.

On the way back we read that the cafe does amazing icecream, so we went on the hunt for said cafe, we could only find a small trinket shop and brought icecream from there… It was actually the land trains trinket shop.
The ice cream was fin but nothing special.
As we got closer to the car we stumbled upon the car park cafe and on the oposite side there was a ice cream parlor…. We had to try it so ended up sharing a double scoop cone!
My gosh were those people on Tripadvisor right!!!!
Probably the best ice cream of my life!

If you are in Bournemouth on a sunny day I would 100% recommend a visit here! We ended up spending a hour or so… you could have a whole day out here.
I will be coming back for a little ride on the land train!

Have a blessed day

Eggs, Crochet, Painting and more!

Hello My Loves!

I have been scrimping on the post front as wok life is so busy at the moment.
I do however have a update on life and things that have been happening!

First of all! I totally forgot to share some cheeky pictures of the fur-babies receiving their Easter Eggs! As I was away in Bournemouth with Billy I completely forgot about my boys eggs! (what a bad mother).

Secondly I have been working on a mini project for about a month now! Just something that I dip in and out of… I made a little skirt for Mia. She asked me if I could make a skirt (she thought I could whip one up in 5 mins bless her) and I said I would use the rest of her yarn left over from her poncho to make a cute skirt. Finally it is completed!
It is nothing complex, quite simple but with a cute lace style trim.

Sundays are my lazy days… I am being adventurous if I just leave the house and go down the garden to the studio. I decided to do a touch of painting as the weekends are really the only time I have free to do this sort of thing.  I opted for sitting on my bed and balancing all my water and painted on some boxes (I obviously live on the edge).  Trying to gain some inspiration for my creation was frankly a pain in the bum today. A heavily wet Billy (he had been playing with the hose pipe) decided to jump up on my newly changed sheets and drench my bedding. This is where my inspiration came from. I have never been very good at drawing so I try to avoid portraits at all costs….HOWEVER practice makes perfect right? I figured if I want to get better… I have to tackle the fear!
The below is what I came up with. I think Billy looks alright, Bloo on the other hands looks slightly odd….

I also have some exciting news!!! (for me, not for you)
I have booked to go away this year! Adam and I were planning on staying in England this year and not going away on holiday mainly due to funds and how expensive everything has now become… This however doesn’t stop me looking and dreaming of the wonderful places I want to visit! We were initially looking at Jamaica, then we looked at Dominican Republic… I have to say I am more of a modern hotel kind of gal. Fran from work likes to call me a ‘holiday snob’ because I like to go to the best places!
Hey! can’t help it if I know what I like huh?

So the big reveal is….
We are going….

So we went Cancun last year on holiday. It was beautiful! I have to say I did not enjoy it as much as Egypt the year before! We stopped in the Beach Palace which in itself was a nice hotel, I wasn’t blown away by a variety of things, one of the most important being the food. Have a look at my trip advisor review for information and pictures of this hotel.

This year we are stopping at Secrets The Vine which is 5 minutes car ride from Beach Palace! So we are in pretty much the same area! The hotel is a bit better however…

I am also really excited because this will be my first time flying 1st class.
We are flying with Thomson on their Dreamliner. We flew economy for Egypt and our recent trip to Cancun. Both were fine, however the people we had sitting next to us were not exactly desirable. They were painting their nails and also had lots of people constantly coming over and talking to them when we were obviously trying to catch a few Z’s. We also had huge queues to contend with both at Birmingham and Cancun…
So this year we decided why the hell not? We got a cheap deal on the upgrade 100 per person for Premium Club which not only includes the plane extras such as:
Seats with 38 inch seat pitch, additional recline, 2 seats instead of 3, complimentary newspaper, water, 4 course meal (with actual glass cutlery), unlimited drinks from juices through to a variety of alcohol miniatures, pillows and blankets and a beauty mintuires kit.
You also get Priority check in (No hour long queues which we had last year), Access to the airport lounge (this includes drinks and snacks, and just a nice place to wait for your flight), Priority Boarding (get on first, get off first)… I just think its going to make the flight and the travel so much more bearable.
We have booked to go on 25th August which is around the same time we went last year!
Very excited and something to look forward to (Only 123 days left to go!)

Does anyone else have any holiday plans? Or has anything exciting recently happened?

Sending my love and have a blessed day!

My Easter Break… ‘Billy goes to Bournemouth’

Happy Easter Everyone!!
Hope you all have had a blessed day and have had lots of chocolate eggs!

My blog today is all about my little fur baby Billy! He has been on his first holiday over the Easter break; he has came to visit Adam in Bournemouth!!!
Unfortunately due to Bloo being so huge and Adam living in a top floor flat, it just wouldn’t be feasible for me to take both of them… I do hear though that he is missing Billy and is very jealous!

It all started off when myself and Adam was discussing moving in together and how we would get a dog. In particular I have my heart set on a little French bulldog however I am big on adopting puppies/dogs and not buying #AdoptDontShop
We were discussing how much hardwork they would be and also if it would be feasible.
Nothing else was said on the topic for a little while but Adam did suggest bringing Billy down on my next visit. As Adam lives by the sea and is a mere 5 minutes from Southbourne beach it seemed like the perfect idea…

I packed up my suitcase and bags as usual for my venture down south. I was also packing for a second passenger, Billy. 6 Tins of dog food, a bag of biscuits, a bowl, harness & collar, a ball, a bed and his lead.

The bearing in mind from Leicester to Southbourne (Bournemouth) it takes about 3 hours in the car… Billy was a little star. After getting the car packed up I put a blanket down in the foot-well for him to lay on. About an hour into the journey he was looking at me slightly puzzled as if to say ‘This is a long journey to the park’. Another half an hour and we had got half way. He kept trying to go sleep but the car was too bouncy for him and the bumps kept waking him, so I pulled over to see if he needed to go toilet and then put his bed into the foot-well. The space was a little tight but it did the job, for the remaining time he drifted in and out of sleep until we got to Bournemouth.

That evening he was pretty darn petrified. He wasn’t sure where he was and he wasn’t really sure what was happening but with a bit of encouragement he was going toilet and navigating around the flat. We had takeaway food that evening and had a reasonably early night sleep so we could get up and take Billy for his first experience on the beach.

Over the past few days Billy has been on 3 walks a day! A Morning walk which consists of lots of ball throwing and chase games. The Afternoon walk which was a much more leisurely stroll on the beach shoreline. The Adam Evening walk, Adam takes him back down to the beach for the final walk of the day which is only a 30 min walk but allows him to get some fresh air and go toilet.

Our evenings consist of getting takeaway or cooking and just before bed taking billy down to the very local greenery (1 min walk) for him to go for a wee before settling down for the night.
It has been a lovely break but very tiring for both myself and Adam as well as Billy.
I will be heading back to Leicester tomorrow morning to miss the Easter Break traffic. I can only imagine Billy will be doing exactly what he is doing now… Donking out, fast asleep!

I have to say! I feel fitter, but I am in so much pain with my back, my ankles, legs, shoulder and neck. I basically ache all over. Adam and I have decided that until we buy a house with a garden, maybe we wouldn’t cope with a dog. Lucky for me I live with my granny & auntie still so I have my 2 babies (4 including the guineas) at home.

Hope you all had a wonderful break!
Billy sends lots of love and licks

Kirstie’s World!

Hello my loves,

Can you believe it has been 2 days since I have posted?
It has all been happening in my world! I have had a very busy few days at both work and at home.

At work I am currently working on a new instore campaign which is due to go live this month. So there has been long working hours and a few frustrations but we are so nearly there! Very exciting!

I have been butting heads with my partner which has been very frustrating! Hopefully he sees sense soon!

Finally I have been painting and also I have had some new piercings!

Starting with my painting… You will already know that I have my new watercolour set… I love it! Oil painting has always been my fortay, however I am in love with watercolour!
I have created another animal focused piece. My auntie wanted me to paint a robin and some deer, so thats exactly what I did!

Robin & Deer!
I was a little flustered and needed some friend time on Monday so I text one of my oldest and best friends Mikhail. We met up in town and had YO! Sushi as it was Blue Monday.
I went and got a triple forward helix piercing. I had wanted this done for a while but I always put it off. Still, I thought ‘what the hell!’ and went to have it done at Jenova Rain

I have to say she was the best piercer I have ever encountered! She is lovely in every shape and form. Very professional and talked me through all of the instructions. She spent her time really talking through my options and when I was unsure about the placement she did not hesitate to move them to my preferred placing. I have to say I am gutted that Jenova is moving away (she is moving to Spain don’t cha know!) I am so happy for her but she is obviously a well established piercer and body modification specialist. I am just being selfish and want her to stay!
Its key to note that there is a half price offer on for the remainder of April! Bargain!
I am happy to give a 5/5 for Jenova Rain – get there before she is gone!

Other than that – thats all that has been happening!
I guess now I wont write a new post until Friday/Saturday so I will leave you all be!
Have a lovey rest of the week and let me know what exciting things you have happening over easter

cheerio and blessed day to you all

Sunny Dayz = Happy Dayz

If you have been to the UK… you will know a sunny day makes us English go a bit crazy! A bit of sunshine and the crop tops come out, mens shirts come off and parks, beer gardens and any area touched by sun rays is jam packed full of people.

I however had a bit of a busy day planned. I work up this morning got showered, dressed and prepped for the day ahead. I put the guinea pigs out in their new run and watched them popcorn for a good 15 minutes.
I had a dress fitting for Wai San’s (My friend from work)  wedding, I am one of her bridemaids. So I drove up to Birstall, it was a nice 20 minute drive with my air-con blasting.

After getting measured up and spending some time catching up with Wai (I had only just seen her the day before haha) I drove back to Leicester where I should have been going cinema with Jody and her sister Laura. Unfortunately we had a mix up with phones and texts not coming through that this didn’t materialise!
So instead I took my make up off and threw some slumming clothes on. I Put a blanket out on the patio outside and set up my new watercolour set to paint for the afternoon.
I attempted a hummingbird and some flowers. Although not my best – it was just a trial – you can see a picture of it below:

While I had a bit of time to myself I am decided on getting a new ear piercing.
I will be looking at a triple forward helix, a double if a triple won’t fit.
I have also added a picture of me sun-ready in my shades!

Hope it has been sunny wherever you are!

Sending positive vibes to you all! Have a blessed day

Not Just For Grannies!

I get laughed at for many of my interests and hobbies, but most of all is crochet.

I love crochet.
Now some people may have heard of this, others my have no idea…
Basically it is a handicraft in which yarn is made up into a textured fabric by means of a hooked needle. Do not mistake this for knitting, (it kind of is knitting) rather than using 2 knitting needles you use 1 crochet hook!

I got into crochet when I saw a ‘Mood blanket’ which is a granny square for each day or week of the month in the colour you feel represents your mood. People create these over a year and create 1 square a month others do it over a month and create them per day!

I like therapeutic or creative activities such as wrapping presents, adult colouring and also drawing. So my auntie picked me up a crochet magazine, a ball of yarn and a crochet hook… I read this magazine and then went straight onto YouTube for a tutorial.
I came across Jayda In Stitches who had created a granny square tutorial.
you can find her YouTube channel here:
She also has a Etsy store which has many, many, many fantastic crochet patterns to choose from:
Her tutorials were so valuable to me, it really helped me understand the basics of crochet as well as more complex stitches.

So I started off with a baby blanket (this took me FOREVER) which I eventually gave to my little cousin Mia to use for her dolls.
My next challenge was a throw for my bed! I have to admit it never got to the size of my bed, but it does make for a lovely blanket for work or just to keep me warm at home.
From here I felt much more confident to work on more complex items… I started making Mittens, Cardigans and Jumpers. I most recently made a super cute dress.

If you are looking to start crocheting I would suggest having a look on YouTube to see what tutorials are out there. I would then advise you to have a look on eBay for your crochet hooks. I got a selection of 12 aluminium crochet hooks ranging from 8.00mm all the way down to 2.00mm for about £4. For Christmas I received a crochet set and case from my partner which also had 9 soft touch hooks included from 6.00mm down to 2.00mm. I have to admit the soft touch hooks are much easier to use as you have a slight grip, if you do a lot of crocheting the spongy grip will also stop your fingers from aching and getting tired quickly! Included in this case I also received a selection of stitch markers, plastic yarn needles, yarn scissors, mini knitting needles, tape measure, round counter, and ruler. Some of these thing you may not think are needed but I have used every single piece of kit in my set. Unfortunately I don’t know where Adam got it from or how much but I would have happily paid at least £20 for it!

The most important piece of kit is the yarn. Before purchasing this work out what item you plan to crochet. Then you can work out the weight of yarn needed and how much you need.
For a quick overview of yarn weights have a look at:
Subsequently Love Knitting is one of my preferred websites to purchase my yarn. They always seem to have a offer on. I believe they are currently offering 15% off your first order. If you are looking for a basic yarn which is readily accessible and cheap I would advise you to purchase James C Brett Top Value DK 100% Acrylic Yarn (100g). This uses a 4mm crochet hook and comes in a wide range of colours. I can pick this up  on the market for around £1.40 or cheaper.

Here are a few snaps of some of the pieces I have made! Some of my best ones are not shown such as my poncho (no one can be sad in a poncho), little Mia’s poncho, little dress and a beautiful infinity scarf. I am also in the process of creating a little skirt with lace trim.

Going forwards I will start sharing patterns, hints and tips for crochet.
I am looking to get a new laptop and desk to allow me to do some videos to a decent standard, so once I have this sorted I may end up creating some YouTube tutorial videos to help you with easy to knit pieces and stitches!

If there is anything in particular you would like to know or have any questions please ask away.

Ciao & have a blessed day!
